Dying With You Baby

Nothing left to say
Nowhere else to go
It’s only you and me here on my own

Shallow empty days
Passing street parades
We both know something’s got to change

3 years of wellness and the beat goes on

Current mood: amused

3 years, 24 festivals, 647 gigs, five thousand three hundred and one CDs sold, six thousand eight hundred and seventy six fans, enough former band members to fill a small orchestra, 5 national tours of Aus, 1 overseas tour, forty two thousand five hundred and six kilometers travelled (we are not proud of that), 845 smiles, 12 tears shed, 7 fights, 7 cuddles, 16 hangovers, 198 guitar strings broken, 4 day jobs quit or fired from, infinite violin solos…

It’s our birthday! 3 years ago we played our first ever gig at Manchester Lane and it brings a smile to our collective face to see us still kickin’ around. There have been many opportunities to lay our instruments down, to take up teaching or other day jobs but we have never thought of quitting just doing things better. We’ve learned so much from everyone who has seen us, played with us, booked us, cancelled us, stiffed us, applauded us, talked over us and loved us.

Thanks so much to all the lovely people who have helped us out on this great journey: the band bookers who gave us a gig even when all we had we’re some dodgy demos, the 32 former band members who lent their musical fervor to our project and stuck with us for so long even when there was no audience and no money.

Thanks to all the people who have encouraged us and let us know what our music means to them – you have encouraged us to keep plodding through those challenges. We are humbled. Thanks to even those few killjoys out there who tried to tell us we couldn’t do what we do or that we should just be a little bit more something different from what we are – you have strengthened our confidence in our direction.

We have so much still to learn, more great gigs to play and some dud ones too, but we are so grateful for the journey this far.

I love this band the people in it, the music so much it hurts. I have both gained and lost so much because of it. It is my everything – my party, my work, my meditation, my inspiration, my frustration. It is the hardest and easiest thing I have ever been apart of.

Happy Birthday to The Wishing Well and to everyone who has been a part of this monster in the past 3 years:)

    Harminder Saini Hey guys
I heard you for the first time playing in the Melbourne CBD on the weekend. I was completely mesmerised and I had shivers up and down my spine listening to your music.

I didn't get the chance to purchase a cd....I would love to next time around. Are you playing here anytime soon?

    Cheers,
    Harminder

Hey guys. I had a few hours to kill waiting for the train Sunday @ Flinders Street Station when I was lucky enough to see you play.
2 hours later after standing in the crowd watching you for that long (I had the Crowded House t-shirt on!), you'd made me a fan and I had to buy a copy of your CD.
You guys were amazing... love your style & hope to see you play again sometime (I live 200 km away from Melbourne, so unlikely!)... thank you for the free gig.

    Hey,
I saw you at Salamanca on Saturday and instantly loved your music.
